Video Skills for e-Learning Specialists

Two day hands-on - you’ll be designing, shooting, editing and critiquing video for e-Learning

When it comes to engaging with learners and delivering a message with real impact video is probably top of most trainer’s lists. But video can also be a real disappointment. Poor camera technique, inadequate lighting and haphazard editing can quickly conspire to give amateurish results that jeopardise the credibility of the whole project.

This two day hands-on course is designed specifically for e-Learning specialists who wish to create and deliver short video sequences using consumer level equipment.

Traditional video skills training usually focuses on form rather than message, with an emphasis on creating results that are broadcast quality. The approach is aimed at making material that can be viewed as stand alone video programmes.

The needs of the e-Learning specialist are quite different. In e-Learning video is just one element of the mix and technical quality takes second place to instructional value. Delivery needs also differ. Learners may wish to view content on mobile devices away from the workplace

This two day course is built around the very precise needs of the e-Learning community concentrating on the design and application of video within e-Learning and how it can add value to the learning process. Delegates will learn and apply techniques to allow them to shoot high quality interviews and learning demonstration sequences, including the edit and post production phase.

After two full days with us you'll confidently
design, shoot and edit compelling, effective
and credible e-Learning video sequences
using consumer video camcorders and
equipment.
